Job Summary
Job Description
The Occupational Therapist will provide high quality therapy for children mandated for services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Deliver services in appropriate group size, frequency and duration as mandated by I.E.P. / IFSP
2. Complete annual progress reports.
3. Develop goals and update I.E.P. as per update schedules.
4. Complete diagnostic evaluations.
5. Participate in monthly Team meetings and prepare notes on student progress.
6. Dialogue openly with classroom staff.
7. Participate in Inservices for Staff and Parent Workshops.
8. Meet monthly with OT / PT staff to discuss departmental issues.
9. Contact parents to encourage carry-over of techniques.
10. Update annually required prescriptions for services.
11. Responsible for inputting daily session notes in Easy Trac.
12. Responsible for completing quarterly progress notes.
13. Supervise Student Interns as requested by Department Head.
14. Perform all other duties as required and assigned by the Program Director.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented, well organized and able to communicate effectively
Able to work independently
Strong problem solving ability
Strong computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel and email
Ability to adapt to change quickly
Dependable - consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
Excellent time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS degree
Experience in Special Education a plus
Appropriate NYS license/certification
