Physical Therapist Assistant Jobs in Idaho
A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in the therapy industry by providing physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. They help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain. PTAs are responsible for implementing treatment plans, teaching patients exercises, using equipment to alleviate symptoms, and recording patient progress. They are critical in helping patients recover, improve their physical abilities, and maintain their health.
To succeed as a PTA, one should have strong interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and a compassionate and patient-centered approach. They should be detail-oriented to ensure that patients are doing exercises correctly and that patient records are accurate. PTAs should also have a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). In terms of academic qualifications, they should have graduated from an accredited PTA program and have a valid license to practice. Before becoming a PTA, individuals may have roles as a Physical Therapy Aide, Fitness Trainer, or Rehabilitation Aide, which provide relevant experience and exposure to the field of physical therapy.
