
Join the Live Life Well Massage Clinic Team
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join our team and provide therapeutic massage services to Veterans Affairs (VA) clients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in deep tissue massage and have a working knowledge of how to safely address a variety of diagnoses commonly found in the veteran population, including PTSD, chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and post-surgical recovery. This role involves collaboration with healthcare providers, documentation, and a client-centered approach to care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform professional deep tissue and therapeutic massage tailored to the needs of VA-referred clients.
- Assess clients’ health conditions and needs through intake interviews and documentation reviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in line with VA referrals and clinical guidelines.
- Adapt techniques to safely accommodate clients with conditions such as:
- PTSD & Anxiety: Use calming, grounding techniques and clear communication.
- Chronic Pain (e.g., fibromyalgia, arthritis): Modify pressure and focus on relieving tension without overstimulation.
- Injuries (e.g., back/neck injuries, herniated discs): Avoid contraindicated areas and use supportive bolstering.
- Post-Surgical Recovery: Work with clearance and gradually introduce therapy to support healing and circulation.
- Mobility Issues & Amputations: Adjust positioning and body mechanics; ensure comfort and dignity.
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of all treatments per VA and clinic standards.
- Communicate effectively with other providers and support VA client care plans.
- Follow all HIPAA and privacy guidelines, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
- Keep treatment room and equipment clean and organized between sessions.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in [State Name].
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience with therapeutic and deep tissue massage.
- Experience working with veterans or clients with medical conditions preferred.
- Familiarity with SOAP notes and other clinical documentation standards.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).
- Strong communication and empathy skills.
- Ability to adapt to various client needs and maintain professional boundaries.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform up to 5–6 massages per shift.
- Standing, bending, and use of hands/arms for extended periods.
- Lifting and positioning equipment up to 25 lbs as needed.
